Why most agencies select ICOP for in-car video surveillance.

ICOP Digital, Inc.
Feature
Other Vendors
The IACP states that officer safety should be the primary consideration when purchasing in-car video. The ICOP Model 20/20 was designed from the ground up with officer safety in mind and mounts completely in the dash.
Officer Safety
Many (most) mount overhead, obstructing the officer's view and creating a potential projectile in an accident. Officer safety is at best an afterthought or at worst non existent.
Full VGA (this is the highest quality video available for police in-car surveillance.)
Video Quality
VGA (when it's enlarged for courtroom use and viewing quality degrades, often looking worse than even VHS!)
.Proprietary compression enables full-image video on every frame captured, at all frame rates (10, 15, and 30 frames per second)
Compression
MPEG compression technologies remove video data to reduce files sizes. Single frames of video may display only partial images.
There is no video editing software in existence for video captured with the ICOP Model 20/20.
Tamperproof Evidence
Video may be easily edited with any Windows video editing software. Even when encrypted, schemes utilized are easily cracked.
Multiple levels of password access controls at the DVR and on the server.
Security
May be available. Fewer options and not as customizable.
Installs in nearly any vehicle without additional charge for "non-standard" configurations (eg, Dodge Chargers). Installation is easy and may be completed in about 25% the time of most systems. This means you'll save money over complicated (and costly) installations.
Installation
Installations are complicated and may require damage to the vehicle with drilled holes, or other modifications. Dodge chargers are often not supported, or require tedious "workarounds".
Operate 3 cameras and record on 2 simultaneously. Ships standard with 2 cameras, one front facing and one rear-facing, backseat camera(w/mic).
Cameras
One camera. Additional cameras cost extra.
Standard with the ICOP Model 20/20.
GPS
Extra charge on most systems (If available at all).
High quality 900 MHz frequency hopping spread spectrum with integrated antenna. Allows multiple mics to be operating simultaneously in the same vicinity without interference.
900 MHz Transmitter (wireless microphone)
Standard mic is susceptible to interface and low range. Similar wireless technology is extra cost. Most utilize cumbersome wired mic to transmitter.
Archiving on network server provides easy-to-use search tools enabling instant video retrieval and report generation.
Video Storage and Search Capabilities
Archive on desktop computer inadequate for video archives. DVD and flash card storage is as difficult to archive and retrieve as VHS.
Product is shipping and available in quantities now.
Availability
Many new technology vendors are still placing orders for just inventory and not actual shipping.
